Minor in Sociology or Gerontology

A minor in Sociology consists of SOC 1000 and fifteen additional hours in Sociology. Nine of those fifteen hours must be from among courses at the 3000 or 4000 level. SOC 4900 (the internship) cannot be counted toward the required 18 hours for a minor.

A Sociology minor is helpful in providing an understanding of human groups and how they work and can provide a valuable foundation to any student who plans to work with people. We offer two types of minors and the links to these checksheets are below:
