Want to be a Research Assistant?

Delaney Potts talks about her work as a research assistant with Dr. Trudeau :

As a research assistant for Professor Trudeau, I analyze how the media portrays Black gay men who are victims of interpersonal violence. My work involves conducting media analysis, reviewing academic literature, and compiling research findings. I dedicate 12-15 hours per week to this project, with regular meetings every Friday to discuss progress and refine our approach. I really enjoy the experience of working with a professor on sociological research and gaining experience and knowledge as an upcoming sociologist. -Delaney Potts, Senior, Sociology with a concentration in Criminology

Anyone who is a student at App State can be a research assistant or a teaching assistant, but the requirements may vary between professors. If you are interested in becoming a research assistant or a teaching assistant you should have your professor forward your interest to all faculty. If you already know a professor that needs an assistant then reach out to them for more information.
