Sociology Students Honored for Academic Excellence

On April 20, 2016, several students were recognized for their academic accomplishments at the App State College of Arts and Sciences Student Honors Day. Among them, were several sociology students who have excelled in their studies in sociology.

First, three sociology students were recognized as Outstanding Seniors. These students were:

Elizabeth Tate (BS in Sociology with a concentration in Social Inequalities and a Minor in LGBT Studies)

Bria Ikard (BS in Sociology with a concentration in Social Inequalities and a Minor in Non-Profit Management)

Jeremiah Stanton-Rich (BS in Sociology with a concentration in Applied Research Methods and a Minor in Mathematics)

Second, two students received department scholarships for their academic excellence. These included: 

Emily Hitchner (BS in Sociology with a concentration in Families and Intimate Relationships and a Minor in Non-Profit Management) received the Janice Rienerth Scholarship.

Grayson Bodenheimer (BS in Sociology with a concentration in Social Inequalities and Minors in Global Studies and Medical Humanities) received the Albert and Maxine Hughes Scholarship. He also received the College of Arts and Sciences Student Scholars Scholarship.

The Department of Sociology would like to congratulate these students for their hard work, dedication, and excellence in their academic pursuits!
