Dr. Juhee Woo is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Appalachian State University. She earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder and joined the department in 2020. Her research explores the social determinants of health, with an emphasis on health disparities and health behaviors across diverse populations. Drawing on both quantitative and qualitative approaches, her scholarship has appeared in sociological and interdisciplinary journals, including Health & Place, Demographic Research, and Sociological Perspectives. Dr. Woo is dedicated to fostering connections between research, teaching, and community engagement, and she actively involves students in scholarly research and experiential learning initiatives.
