Dr. Ellen Lamont Publishes Article in The Atlantic, Interviewed for The New York Times

Dr. Ellen Lamont was invited to write an article for The Atlantic on the findings of her new book, The Mating Game: How Gender Still Shapes How We Date. Published on Valentine's Day, Lamont's article promotes the argument that how we date contributes to the gender inequality we see in long-term intimate relationships. Rather, she argues, we should date as equals in order to lay the groundwork for more egalitarian relationships. In addition, she was interviewed for an article in The New York Times on the newly released film, "Portrait of a Lady on Fire." The article explores the movie's theme of how same-sex couples can build more equal romantic relationships because they don't rely on well-worn scripts.

For more on Dr. Lamont's research, please see her book or attend her faculty author event on Tuesday, March 24 from 5-6 in 417 Beacon Heights PSU.
